How To Cover Unwanted Marks On The Wall

Ten years ago, decorating your room meant sticking a whole bunch of stuff on the wall. It could be your favorite photos, posters, maps—basically anything that means something to you. This style looked good then. It was the trend, garnering thousands of ‘reblogs’ on Tumblr.

Fast forward to today, where self-decorating your room meant less tape on the wall and more trinkets on the shelf and the accent table. These trinkets can be books, ceramics, indoor plants, and any souvenir you found on your last few trips.

When you’re revamping your room, you might find tape marks on your wall. Let’s face it: it doesn’t look appealing. Luckily, there are a few tricks you can do to hide those marks.

Shelves on the wall

Putting shelves on the wall sounds like a laborious task, but you might be wrong. One visit to the hardware store, and you’ll instantly find kits that already have the piece of wood, screws, and brackets. If your wall is concrete, borrowing an electric drill from your handyman would most definitely help.

Once you’ve placed the shelves on the wall, it would only be a matter of time until you can fill it. You can display vinyl records in their full glory, especially because they wide enough to cover a lot of space. You can place hanging plants, so they can vine all they want. Instead of trinkets, consider placing bigger objects on the shelves to cover the wall effectively.

Wallpaper

The best thing about wallpapers is that they’re like an instant fix. Some come in rolls with adhesive, which makes them like giant stickers. Without the need for a paintbrush and glue, you can stick them on the wall, and you can be done within the day.

They come in a plethora of designs, too. There are plain-colored ones, 3D printed designs, and other modern wallpapers. They are perfect to suit your needs and create a coherent look for the room. Some designs can also be used for an accent wall to add a little personality to your interiors.

A huge mirror

This may sound crazy and dance-hall-esque, but large mirrors a trend. Not only is it useful for mirror selfies, but it also makes the room seem bigger. This proves extra useful for small spaces.

Mirrors can be styled in so many ways, as it comes with different shapes and frames. You can have a minimalist mirror with having a thin bezel, or you can have it a little more ornamental with a bone inlay. Mirrors can also be stuck on the wall or let it lean. To spruce the area, you can add a potted indoor plant on the side and a cute rug in front of the mirror.

You might be regretting some design choices from ten years ago, but that’s totally fine. Going through this change means that you’re coping with the times and that you have changed. What’s important is you reflect your personality on the design that you envision. No matter the markings on the wall, a couple of shelves, a large mirror, and wallpapers are there to help you.
